Business storytelling

katiesbailey

I'd like to use this space to explore business storytelling: what I think works, what I think doesn't, who is doing it well, and what resources offer value. I've worked in B2B journalism as a writer and editor for over 15 years and have seen every kind of press release and comms strategy possible. As a past and present corporate communications professional, I've also see what it takes to get those releases out into the world and why they often end up the way they do.

Possible topics include: AI and artifice; crafting great newsletters, earned and owned media, telling stories versus selling product, press releases, editorial advantages, the romance of the corporate writer, specialist services, editorial strategy, stakeholder buy in, tools, thoughts on the media environment and its value in content and communications, and more. My goal is to write higher-value short essays and short posts between, with a total volume of five pieces per week.
